The 16th Architect of the Year Award was presented to Ar. Anupam Saxena (Bareiliy) as commendation award in Category: Indian State Architecture Awards for project Cantonment General Hospital, Bareilly . The Award was Presented by Shri S. Gupta Chairman United Bank of India, the Chief Guest at the award ceremony held in Kolkata in Presence of Mr.Y.P Sighania , the Founder of the J.K.AYA awards.

Ar. Anupam Saxena is a Graduate in Architecture , from GCA Lucknow. His major projects are Mahanagar Township Dhyan ChandSports Stadium - Bareilly , Fun-City , Renovation of Kathgodam Railway Station and VIP Guest house for North Eastern Railway.

The winning entry is a 40 bed General Hospital . Special features include taking care of eight fully grown trees on the site . Courtyard has been developed around one of the such trees , which is right at the main Entrance. The view of the tree is framed in the series of three double height arches of the similarly proportioned Porch and entrance hall . The whole plan is punctuated with series of courtyards and one tree being accommondated in each such courtyard. The building merges with the site . Friendly appearance , shady trees and ample cross ventilation has healing effect on the patients.
